this is a good book for the civil war history buff. It is a rather dry read as it is a chronicle of the 1st Ohio cavalry and their exploits throughout the civil war. It is interesting and factual but a pretty dry read. I have enjoyed reading it, but some of the chapters are too long and it is very good at helping me fall asleep. It is very interesting though as seen through the eyes of the author who was there and gives you a new perspective on a lot of battles and things that you are used to reading about that someone wrote about a hundred or more years later. You really don't think about all the training and sometimes these guys would be in the saddle for weeks at a time, with little or no rest or time off duty.Product details

Very well written book. Worth reading.
